Artivism and Academia
Amy Wiebe Lau is a Vancouver-based contemporary abstract expressionist who creates dynamic and expressive compositions inspired by the natural beauty of water and the cosmos. As a doctoral candidate in Arts Education, Amy’s research interests lie at the intersection of art and social justice, with a focus on the role of contemporary art in decolonization and reconciliation. Her work is deeply influenced by her experiences as a person of Asian descent. Amy is committed to creating beautiful and meaningful art that captures the essence of the natural world.
Amy strongly believes that art has the power to provoke thought and initiate social change. She is committed to using her artistic platform to raise awareness of these critical issues. She hopes to spark conversations around the theme of diversity and anti-racism and inspire people to take action toward building more equitable and inclusive workplaces.
